
The Cleansing Nature of Water

Thirst things first – water will be available in the session, however it is advisable to bring plenty of good water with you so you can continue drinking when you leave and even up to 24 hours after a session. This will help clear out any toxins which have been released and help you to get the best possible results.
What to expect
A therapy session is your time and I care about providing what is needed for you, in the moment, at every treatment session. Sessions can be tailored to your preferences and requirements, giving you the time and resources which work best for you.
My Flow…
My sessions flow intuitively and so they may differ from client to client. By focusing intuitively, the energy is directed in harmony with your unique needs and desires. If it seems necessary your practitioner will put a filter or protection in place and then I will read your energy field. In a Reiki therapy session I invite the universal life energy to channel through the hands move where the hands feel drawn to over a particular place on the body and focus attention there. Sometimes attention is drawn to areas of the auric field and I may put my focus there. I may sweep, or pull energy away from you to clear it and at the end, brush it away.

Experiencing…
You may melt into a couch or recline in a chair depending on availability and chose to receive hands-on the body or hands about 3-4 inches away and not touching your body – as preferred. Let go of expectations and open in whatever way you can to the experience which flows in you.
As you relax into the session you are likely to feel a sense of calm drifting over you, maybe a flow of energy, a bit like the way we notice the wind blowing or water flowing. Sometimes warmth, or a cold spot, tingling, prickles, waves, even a buzzing sensation in the body is felt. You may also see colours or have images, maybe even go on a journey – a bit like in a dream. At times emotions arise to the surface to be released as blocked energies begin to flow. If this happens – I will stay with you through it. This way we can see it all the way through and release it. This works best for you. Sometimes you may find that all that seems to happen are just your everyday thoughts and you can feel nothing at all during the session. In this case, pay close attention to changes in your life when you leave the session and in your everyday life.
Distance Healing Session – Setting the Scene…
Before we begin – make sure you have created a beautiful and nurturing time and space for your session where you will not be disturbed, place yourself away from others, take care of the door, either turn off the phone completely or if you can – set the telephone to only receive a call from me at the end of the session and set it to a quiet ringtone so it doesn’t shock you. If you are in an environment where others may disturb you – make sure you have let them know not to disturb you for at least 5, 10 or 15 minutes after a session to make sure that you get the best you possibly can out of it. You may wish to have soft cushions, blankets, comfortable furnishings, perhaps candles, burn some incense or essential oils and place relaxing images or colourful items which you are attracted to in your environment. If you can, wear loose comfortable clothing, releasing anything tight or restrictive so you can truly relax into the experience. If you wish have a journal and colourful pens close by in case you wish to make notes after the session. Be sure have everything set up ready to settle down and relax before we begin our call.
Consulting your Wardrobe…!
It is up to you to wear what you wish, but you are likely to find comfortable, loose clothing best and expect to take off your shoes.
How many sessions?
This varies so much. The most average response people give is 6. Some people are ripe and ready to release and just looking for a boost – in which case maybe 1-3 sessions may be enough. Others are looking for a longer term commitment to see change in a bigger issue, or for support in their day-to-day situations or environment. Either way, Reiki energy works with you and adapts to suit your specific requirements. Each successive treatment quenches nourishes your ability to relax and deepen, to really reach the heart of the issue.
How long does it last?
Reiki stays in your energy field for 2-3 days while it quenches itself on the new energy, so take it easy! You may continue to feel like you are still in the session. It’s important to drink plenty of good clean water to keep releasing toxins and anything the body no longer requires.
How often to return?

Whenever you feel you need it. Some people like to focus on a specific issue and have a set time-frame for it. This could mean they return each week for a short while, or every fortnight or monthly until it is dealt with. Others may have a monthly treatment as an ongoing concern. It can be combined with other therapies and so may need to be timed to flow with another session.
Should I contact my Doctor?
Reiki works alongside medical treatment – it is something to add in “as well as” rather than “instead of” other treatments. It won’t interfere with other medicines – reiki stimulates the body’s own healing response. If you wish to change anything about medications you use it is something for you to discuss with your GP.

Reiki calms the mind, relaxes the body, lifts the spirits, boosts your energy levels, lifts your mood, assists and improves your mental function, your metabolic system, activates healing and boosts your immunity. It improves your ability to cope with life.
